HOW TO SPLIT THE PAGES IN A PDF FILE IN 10 EASY STEPS
Welcome to the Digital World and how to split the pages in a PDF file in 10 easy steps! Here we are. Right now some of us may be struggling a bit, to say the least. Whether we’re, teachers or moms or both, we could probably use a little, if not a lot of help right now. So I figured it would be a good idea to try and use some resources we already own. I thought this tutorial might help, even just a little bit. Here’s how you can make new PDF resources and old PDF resources work for you.
You have some pretty great PDF worksheets and activities you’d like to use with your students who are part of remote learning, right? Some of these PDF resources are even differentiated, yay! But wait! You may only want to send certain pages to certain students, not the whole packet!! You’ve come to the right place.
This STEP-BY-STEP MAC TUTORIAL will show you how to split up the pages in a PDF while keeping the original file intact.
Choose the pages you want to email to students or upload to whatever online platform you may be using. Take any PDF and turn it into a digital resource.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ALL
First, make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed. Its free!
Here’s a link. getadobereader.com
Next, move the PDF file to your desktop. It’s always easier to work from there.
Then, Click on the PDF file but DON’T OPEN IT!
Now we’re ready to begin.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Step #1: Go to→File→Open
Step 2: Select Preview
Step #3: Your PDF file is now open in Preview. You can view the File and the Thumbnails on the left of your screen. If the thumbnails aren’t showing, Go to→View (upper left-hand corner) and select Thumbnails.
Step #4: IF YOU JUST NEED 1 PAGE
Find the thumbnail of the page you want. Click and Drag it onto your desktop. That’s it! If you need multiple pages GO ONTO STEP #5.
STEP #5: MULTIPLE PAGES
- First Page: Click on the thumbnail of the first page you want. Here it’s page 6.
- To Select a Second Page: hold down the command key and click on the thumbnail
- To Select Another Page: let go of the command key, scroll to the thumbnail you want, hold down the command key and click on the thumbnail. And so on. Save as few or as many pages as you like.
Step #6: Go to→File→Print
Step #7: Click on→Select Pages in Sidebar
Step #8: Go to→PDF
Step # 9: Select→Save as PDF
Step # 10: VERY IMPORTANT!
After you choose Save as PDF this window will open. Before you Save, change the name of the file in Save As: If you don’t Adobe may replace the original PDF file with this one!
